In a lecture at Yale SOM, Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, Lester Crown Professor in the Practice of Management, took a look at the heroic CEO and his or her standing in contemporary society. "What's the yardstick?" he asked his audience. "What are we comparing CEOs to in terms of their leadership contributions?" Sonnenfeld, one of the country's foremost leadership scholars, spoke to the audience about the complicated relationship between business leaders and the public and how we might be better off if we searched for heroes elsewhere.
