Cinnamon Red Hot Candy Apples 1/2 C. Water 1 C. Light Corn Syrup 2 C. Granulated Sugar 1/4 - 1/3 C. Imperial Candies or Red Hots Red food coloring, optional 8-9 Small to Medium Sized Apples, Prepped for Dipping Other Items Needed: Candy Thermometer Skewers for the Apples Heavy-Bottom Pan Parchment Paper for Baking Sheet Pans or Something Similar Wash the apples, and dip them in boiling water for a few seconds to remove wax. Dry very well. If time permits, leave them overnight to dry very well. Insert skewers in bottom end. Pour corn syrup, water, and sugar into pan. Heat over medium flame. At around 220 degrees, add in imperials. When everything is more incorporated and temp reaches closer to 310, add in coloring. Turn mixture off at 310 and dip apples! When apples have cooled completely, wrap them in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator.
