A CSF is when we collect liquid from the spinal column of a pet. Stella's brain was scanned by an MRI machine because of neurological issues. The results from the MRI suggested a few possible diseases and to find out the exact problem it was necessary to collect a sample of her cerebrospinal fluid. The cerebrospinal fluid runs though the spinal cord (head to tail) and can be used to diagnose infections and other conditions affecting the brain. To collect this fluid, we needed to insert a special spinal needle between the vertebras in the neck, while Stella was under general anaesthetic.
