Nasopharygeal polyps often present as a persistent "snoring" sound in cats. Some cats may have nasal discharge (can be clear or thick yellow snotty looking), and the snoring originates in the head/face/back of the throat areas. Your vet can help to identify the origination of the sound with a stethoscope. This cat was seen by another vet for the abnormal "snoring" sounds. They had recently been heard and the vet was concerned it might be a polyp. The original vet recommended the cat be seen by a specialist for a retroflex endoscopy (camera placed in the mouth and then positioned to look behind the soft palate). While ideal it was cot prohibitive for the client at $1700. The cat came to us for a second opinion. Here is Stripes story.
