The Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria is one of the least walked, yet most unique and beautiful Camino options for adventurous winter pilgrims. It's a great alternative Camino, especially in the winter, because the Canary Islands are a great place to visit in December, January, and February.  The island of Gran Canaria is one of the seven Canary Islands. They're a part of Spain even though they are located off the coast of Africa.  The Camino de Gran Canaria travels the entire island, from the Maspalomas lighthouse in the south, through the volcanic caldera of Tejeda, ending at the beautiful Iglesia de Santiago in Gáldar in the north. We walked the 66 km route in 4 days. Our friends Ricky and Erica from ‪@caminotellers‬ invited us to join them on this epic journey.
