Dayana Theus’s TEDx talk explains why being pro Black means celebrating Black culture and supporting Black communities, not just fighting racism. She shows how the history of slavery still affects the way Black people are treated and viewed today, especially through stereotypes in media. Her message encourages young people to reject these stereotypes, take pride in their identity, and help build a future where everyone can fully thrive. Dayana Theus, a student at Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology, is driven by a passion for education and its power to shape society. She believes knowledge is not just a tool but a force for change— essential in navigating social and political challenges. Through her TEDxYouth@RMSST talk, Dayana hopes to inspire her peers to embrace scholarship, think critically, and recognize the value of being well-informed. With confidence and enthusiasm, she aims to encourage others to stay engaged, challenge narratives, and foster a culture of intellectual curiosity. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
