Knowing it's a Walthers Mainline reviewing this locomotive, I found some likes and some dislikes. From front to back this is a beautiful locomotive but with big issues. I'm not a basher but this locomotive and I have to put it out there especially if you guys are interested or planning on purchasing one or more of these machines. I found out that the Walthers SD60M has a nasty stability problem meaning this thing rocks like crazy. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was one or maybe three, but I tested five including other roads and they all had the same problem. The rocking is so bad you can blow on it in see it rock. There is a fix but it require you to remove the shell and add strips of styrene between the frame and the clip that holds the trucks to the frame. Whatever ESU Loksound decoder that Walthers is using sucks. The speed of this locomotive is perfect for yard service, not road even after I made motor control adjustments. I like the engine but it will only be 1 and hopefully ATHEARN will decide to do this locomotive and in the meantime I'm going work with this puppy. REMEMBER GUYS, TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.
