It is a fast-paced and undulating melody full of joyous vibes. To share the story and culture of the 24 Chinese solar terms, from April to December 2022, we will present 12 musical sessions of traditional Chinese music, each themed in the Chinese solar terms. Please join us on this special journey as we enjoy the beauty of traditional Chinese music and roam through the four seasons. The “Grain Rain” is the last solar term in spring, meaning “rain brings forth the growth of grains.” After the Grain Rain, all life will be awakened to welcome the warmer weather.The “Spring Mountain before the Grain Rain” session has chosen pieces themed in spring, and presented using different traditional Chinese musical instruments in a series of small solo, reprise, and traditional Chinese chamber music performances, to bring out the essence of spring during Grain Rain through the unique expression, characteristics, and narrative techniques of traditional Chinese instruments. The session will start with “Spring Dawn” and ends with the “Song of Joy”.
