Concerto pour une Voix (Concerto for one Voice) is a contemporary classical song written by the French composer Saint-Preux in 1969, combining elements from popular music and electronic music. He composed the Concerto, his biggest hit, in Poland. The piece was first sung by Danielle Licari, who used a vocalise technique similar to scat singing in jazz. The song, released on the Disc'AZ label in 1969, made both her career and his. In a few months it had sold over 3,000,000 copies in France alone, and gained recognition outside France as well. A recent cover in duet by Clémence, daughter of the composer, and Jean-Baptiste Maunier under the title "Concerto for two voices" had a lot of success. The song is arranged for the Roland Music Atelier organ with different female voices, different strings, pipe organ voices, piano, and different bass voices. The Roland Music Atelier organ, compared to other high-end organs such as Yamaha (Electone, Tyros), Hammond, Lowrey, Wersi or Böhm is one of the best musical instruments ever produced thanks to the versatility and the richness of its voices, from the sound of classical pipe or theater organ of the silent-movie era to up-tempo jazz and rock organs, with harmonic drawbars.
