Together with our friends from Hong Kong, we decided to embark on a river boat cruise along the Mae Ping River here in Chiang Mai. The journey was smooth and uncomplicated, beginning at Wat Chai Mongkhon. The river boat took us on an 8 km roundtrip from Wat Chai Mongkhon to Farmers House and back, lasting a total of two hours. During our 30-minute break at Farmers House, we had the opportunity to enjoy a meal, explore the herbal garden, and wander through the grounds of a former restaurant that once catered to large crowds. Unfortunately, the establishment's former glory has faded, largely due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic from which the business never fully recovered. The boat captain and all staff members were exceptionally friendly, enhancing our overall experience with Mae Ping River Cruise. We highly recommend this excursion to anyone with an interest in nature and the beauty of the river.
