After Roy Castle's death from lung cancer in September 1994, BBC Video released a tribute to his time on BBC children's programme Record Breakers which he hosted for 22 years. I transferred the video to dvd a few years ago so the picture and sound quality may vary in places as I played the video a lot. This tribute features some of his most successful record-breaking attempts and these include: The world's biggest one-man band playing Whistle While You Work with over 40 instruments on the first Record Breakers show in 1972. Tap dancing for 23 hours and 44 minutes to raise money for charity. Performing 42nd Street and dancing with what was then (in 1977) the world's biggest dance troupe outside BBC Television Centre. Flying from London to Paris strapped to the top of a biplane. Parascending under nine of London's bridges. Rope sliding off the top of Blackpool Tower to celebrate Record Breakers 18th Birthday. Many other attempts are also featured. Please Note: The content of this video is the copyright of its respective owners and does not belong to me.
