For feedback and business queries, please email us at suviganu@gmail.com This video is about all types of chirality. Chirality is important topic in stereochemistry and need detailed explanation. We discussed four types of chirality and it can be used as better source of learning and understanding. Types of Chirality 1. Chiral Centre ( R and S configuration, enantiomers) 2. Chiral Axis (Allenes, spiranes, Biphenyl, Spiranes) 3. Chiral Plane (Ansa, Paracyclophane, Transcyclooctane) 4. Spiral Chirality (Spiral, DNA, RNA) Chirality is a fundamental concept in stereochemistry that describes the property of a molecule or object that cannot be superimposed on its mirror image. This non-superimposable relationship between an object and its mirror image is often referred to as handedness. Chiral Molecules: Carbon as a Chiral Center: Carbon atoms are commonly chiral centers when they are bonded to four different groups. Other Chiral Centers: Atoms such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur can also be chiral centers under certain conditions. Chirality in Molecules without Chiral Centers: Molecules without chiral centers can still be chiral if they have a plane of symmetry or a center of symmetry.
