Overpriced but Gorgeous, and a Personal Favourite - LEGO Batman Classic TV Series - Batcave (76052)

Today I cover my thoughts on an older LEGO DC Superheroes releases, this is the 60s themed Batcave released in 2016 and one of the early instances of LEGO slowly changing their target demographic. This expensive adult based set released when LEGO were highly considered to be a children's toy, alienating their market with an incredibly expensive (for the time) release that confused everyone. Today, we see releases like this every month. I managed to find this for a very good deal in the second-hand market though it came at the cost of botched stickers and missing pieces. A very good deal though, keep that in mind. I have to say this is one of my favourite models for the design and aesthetic and not at all for the original price. I regularly have to remind myself with auctions bought like this that I managed this on a much better deal than what was offered at the time. This set was hated amongst fans for feeling too barren and empty and rather lacklustre feeling incomplete, priced at half a grand nzd. In 2016 you were able to buy the current gen consoles for the same price as this toy. I think this is a really interesting time capsule at how the LEGO brand has changed because if this released today, this would just be a regular Tuesday This was an adult targeted set released at a bad time in the companies life when they were still a toy for kids. I love it for the price I paid even if my model has some dodgy aspects to it, but I have to thank each and every one of you for supporting this channel and helping me finish off my collection.
