There might be an issue with the Litter-Robot spring key if you are experiencing any of the following: 3 lights flashing Yellow light flashing slowly Red light flashing Internal shield falling down But there’s good news! We’ve designed the Litter-Robot so that it’s super-simple to maintain. If our customer service team directed you to reset the spring key on your Litter-Robot 3, then this is the video for you! We’ll walk you through exactly how to reset the spring on the Litter-Robot 3 without damaging the unit in this useful video. This video tutorial gives you step-by-step instructions on how to reset the spring in just a few minutes. All you need is a couple of household tools and you can easily adjust the spring so that your Litter-Robot works as it should in just a few minutes. Tools needed: Phillips head screwdriver Flathead screwdriver (Optional) Pair of cleaning gloves If you are under warranty, you can access replacement parts at no cost. Remove the bonnet by pressing latches on both sides, lifting, and rotating it off the globe. Access the Spring Key: Position the Litter-Robot for easy access to the back. Lift the globe slightly off the tracks to gain better access to the key. Remove the Key: Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw and washer. Take out the key from the unit. Reload the Spring: Examine the spring inside the key and ensure correct placement. Rotate the retainer counter-clockwise until it clicks. Replace the Key: Clean the waste port and wear gloves if necessary. Insert the key, ensuring it settles into place. Tighten the screw until it becomes difficult to rotate. Avoid over-tightening. Reassemble the Unit: Return the globe to tracks and home position. Place the key into the key pocket at the back. Replace the bonnet, aligning snaps with slots on either side. Final Checks: Ensure the shield is on the track and adjust if necessary. Plug in the unit, turn on the power, and let it complete an initialization cycle.
