After 2 years and 4 months of building, rebuilding, procrastinating, and just working in general, I've finally finished this level. I like to think of this as being the quintessential 2.1 level, in that it's a culmination of everything I've learned throughout the update. And, in that sense, some parts are a relic of my previous building style. But no matter. This is the final product. I'd say the part I'm most proud of is the spider, simply because I think the block design is really good. My biggest failing was the object count. This level has 99k objects, far more than it should seeing as it's only 1 minute and 15 seconds long. I feel like there are tons of spots where I could have either cut back on the object count without changing the style, or alternatively, made stylistic changes that would drastically reduce objects. Something that comes to mind is the corner blocks in the wave part, which were made up of TONS of tiny objects which only served to make a simple rainbow effect. But, I gotta be honest with you guys. I kind of resent this level. Having it always nag at me has really worn down on my motivation. There comes a point where you just want it all to be over. The last 2 parts were so painful to do that I just kind of hate their little tiny imperfections that I was too lazy to fix. Hopefully now that it's out, I can give it the distance it deserves and be able to appreciate it for the monumental amount of effort it actually took to make this level. This description has no real structure so I'm just going to go into some thank you messages: Durianhead: This mad man played through drafts of my level and critiqued it in written fucking essays. He's a huge part of why the level is the way it is currently. He's also just a very cool and smart person in general, so thanks for that. Achrotone: Went into this level and fixed up some sections, namely the spider part. Overall also just a really supportive voice, and a cool friend. Tricks33: Lots of emotional support. Just talking to me and shit was really helpful especially as I struggled with depression and anxiety. Kapptsa: Another person who really helped me through anxiety. Having a person I could just vent at was really great for getting things off of my chest. Th31: Verified this level, of course, and also just generally sticks by me. Cool person all around. Lockstep: You called this your favorite level ever made so I feel obliged to put you here. Oh and you're also nice or something, I guess.
