How I spend $200 A year on laundry | Save money on laundry

How To Save Money On Laundry: https://www.thespruce.com/frugal-laun... How To Make Your Own Detergent: https://www.thespruce.com/diy-laundry... In this video you're watching me talk about how I spend $200 a year on laundry and how you can save money by implementing some of these tips into your laundry routine. 1. First thing you should do is always wash in cold water because the water doesn't have to be heated and uses less energy. 2. Wash during non peak times when electricity is the cheapest, usually late evening, all throughout the night and early morning. 3.Air dry if you can. Dryers are expensive and more often than not, use more energy than your washing machine. Air drying accomplishes the same task and for less money. 4. Use less detergent - Most detergents nowadays are optimized and are very highly efficient. So you don't need as much as you think 5.Use generic brand detergent - More often than not, detergents are made in the same factory and put in different bottles just like the pharmaceutical industry with Advil and other ibuprofens 6. Don't buy fabric softener - It's widely regarded that if you dry your clothes and use a dryer sheet, it'll achieve the same result as using fabric softener 7. Wash only full loads of laundry to use the water and energy most efficiently. There's no point in washing a half load of laundry when a full load uses the same amount of water 8. Make your own detergent - I've read articles and seen people make their own detergent so try making your own This is what's currently on my bookshelf: https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/...
