Cohiba Lanceros CUBAN CIGARS UNBOXING

古巴雪茄拆箱 Распаковка кубинских сигар Cuban Cigars Unboxing Lancero is not everyone's favorite vitola. However, it does have a loyal cult-like following. And while it may not be everyone's favorite, many enthusiasts agree it tastes great. It is popular belief that 40% of the flavor comes from the wrapper. A lancero has a lot more wrapper than any other vitola. The wrapper to filler ratio is much greater in a lancero because you have a lot more wrapper and a lot less filler. Ask any cigar roller and/or blender which shape and size is the hardest to roll and you will get a unanimous answer: Lancero. Many cigar blenders and manufacturers avoid this vitola because of how difficult it is to roll- it's equally as difficult to blend. They have problems a lot more often than the same blend in another vitola. Unfortunately, often times the cigars are plugged. If the roller makes the smallest mistake, it can be devastating for the cigar. Every step of the process has to be perfect and precise. This is a delicate cigar, precision is everything. The Cuban Cohiba Lancero is in a class all its own. Definitely a difficult cigar to find and definitely not cheap when you do find it. Like their competitors, Cohiba also has issues where the cigars are flawed. Not all their rollers know how to roll lanceros and this often leads to issues and a lot of the cigars are plugged. Even a household brand name like Cohiba can't find the rollers needed to get the job done- imagine that. In 1992 Cigar Aficionado Magazine owner Marvin Shanken traveled to Cuba to interview then Cuban President Fidel Castro. Whilst discussing his favorite sized cigar with Shanken, Castro went on to explain a little into the origins of where the Cohiba brand originated: "The Cohiba did not exist as a brand in Cuba. One man who used to work for me as a bodyguard, I used to see the man smoking a very aromatic, very nice cigar, and I asked him what brand he was smoking. He told me that it was no special brand, but that it came from a friend who makes cigars and he gave them to him. I said, let's find this man. I tried the cigar, and I found it so good that we got in touch with him and asked him how he made it. Then, we set up the house [the El Laguito Factory], and he explained the blend of tobacco he used. He told which leaves he used from which tobacco plantations. He also told us about the wrappers he used and other things. We found a group of cigar makers. We gave them the material, and that was how the factory was founded. Now Cohiba is known all over the world. That was over 30 years ago." Not sure if your Cohiba cigars are authentic?
