December 18, 2024 At 27:48 when I referenced New Testament baptism, what I meant was new covenant, post-Jesus’s resurrection just to clarify. ^_^ And in case if anyone asks, the Ethiopian eunuch’s water baptism in Acts 8 is not the same as what happened to the disciples. You may notice the differences if you read it for yourself, but for your sake I’ll state them here too- Philip did not command the eunuch to get water baptized. He said “you may”, and no mention of him speaking in tongues or the Holy Spirit falling on him occurred following his physical water baptism, showing it to be merely an outward action, in contrast to the Holy Spirit baptizing the disciples with power and the heavenly language both in Acts 2 & 19. For your nourishment and ease of access, here are the verses in order of mention (mostly NKJV, and many abbreviated for description space, lol)~ You have boldness (Gr. “freedom of speech”) in God’s presence- Heb 10:19 Not by power or might, but by My Spirit- Zech 4:6 “I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”John 8:38 The Holy Spirit helps our infirmities/ makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.. all things work together for good- Rom 8:26-28 He who speaks in tongues edifies himself- I Cor 14:4 God is not the author of confusion but peace- I Cor 14:33 God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, a sound mind- II Tim 1:7 Born of: God- I John 5:4 His Spirit- John 3:6 The Word- I Pet 1:23 Fruits of the Spirit- Gal 5:22-23 The power of the tongue- James 3:2-6 He will guide you into all truth/ take of what is Mine, and declare it to you/ teach you all things- John 16:13-14, 14:26 My peace I give to you- John 14:27 If a household is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you- Matt 10:13 Immediately, Jesus caught Peter by the hand- Matt 14:28-31 He remains faithful- II Tim 2:13 Prosper in all things, and be in health- III John 2 Jesus redeemed us from every disease and pain- Is 53:4-5, I Pet 2:24 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21 If I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays- I Cor 14:14 We have the mind of Christ- I Cor 2:16 If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law- Gal 5:18 New covenant interpretation- When you meditate on God’s word, whatever you do will prosper- Ps 1:2-3 No longer I who live, but Christ lives in me- Gal 2:20 We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us- Rom 8:37 God gives us the victory through Christ- I Cor 15:57 Plow the hard ground of your hearts- Hos 10:12 NLT Good soil= a hearing heart- Mark 4:14-20 Transformed by the renewing of your mind- Rom 12:2 Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty- II Cor 3:17 A new threshing sledge with sharp teeth* to beat the mountains/ the wind shall carry them away- Is 41:15-16 *teeth- piphiyyoth= mouths/ edge (Sword of the Spirit) The Spirit is wind- John 3:8 Command the mountain to move- Matt 17:20 The Spirit of grace- Heb 10:29b Their tongues fail for thirst/ I will open rivers and fountains, springs of water in dry land- Is 41:17-18 When an unclean spirit goes from a man, he seeks dry places- Matt 12:43 The Spirit within us yearns jealously- Jam 4:5 Our bodies are His temple- I Cor 6:19 Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water/ this He spoke of the Spirit which was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified- John 7:37-39 The Spirit within, the well- John 4:14 Baptism upon of the Spirit- All who are baptized in the Holy Spirit speak in tongues and prophesy- Acts 2:2-4, 10:44-46, 19:1-6 KJV Jesus receiving the baptism of the Spirit upon Him like a dove- John 1:32-33, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, Matt 3:16 Praying in the Holy Spirit, speaking the gospel boldly- Eph 6:18-19 Where sin abounds, grace abounds much more- Rom 5:20 Purchased by the blood of Jesus- Acts 20:28 You died with Christ and were raised/ seated in Him- Col 3:3, Eph 2:6 As He is so are we in this world- I John 4:17 The gift of righteousness, His garment- Rom 5:17, Is 61:10 I will pray with both the Spirit and the understanding- I Cor 14:15 God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty- I Cor 1:27 They’re not drunk (lol)- Acts 2:11-15 With stammering lips and another tongue, God speaks to His people/ the rest* and refreshing*- Is 28:11 *Rest- menuchah= tranquility *Refreshing- margeah= ease You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things- I John 2:20 When I am weak, then I am strong- II Cor 12:10
