The footage of the band flickers and strobes, unpredictably shifting from normal speed to slow motion as a rapid-fire stream of paradoxical images - microscopic organisms, galaxies, anatomical drawings, B-movie heroines, Kamikaze fighter pilots, Victorian work-houses -- are projected onto the band and spliced into the film. There is no message -- instead, the viewer is free to make their own associations from the emotionally charged but essentially ambiguous visual imagery. The band Gramme return after more than a decade of silence -- no gigs, no music, no nothing -- with their debut album Fascination. The cult around the band and their lone release, the Pre-Release EP, continued to grow until in 2011 some mysterious 12" bootlegs of Like U began to appear, with edits by Joe Goddard of Hot Chip. With three new 4 track E.P.s already on the shelves this year, reportedly selling out before the dust had time to settle, Gramme's first full-length studio album is now scheduled for release in February on Tim 'Love' Lee's Tummy Touch Records.
