2026-27 Civil Grand Jury Recruitment Webinar

On February 18, 2026, the Santa Clara County Superior Court hosted a webinar on the Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury. This one-hour session was provided in collaboration with LEAD Filipino, CreaTV, and The Dreaming Collaborative, Inc., and moderated by Ellina Yin of The Dreaming Collaborative, Inc. The vital role of the Civil Grand Jury as an independent oversight body within the Judicial Branch and the Court's recruitment for grand jurors were covered in this webinar. Presiding Judge Julie A. Emede opened the session with remarks on the significance of the Civil Grand Jury, followed by Britney Huelbig, Deputy Court Manager, who discussed the jury’s independent authority and efforts to recruit a panel representative of Santa Clara County. Current and former members of the Civil Grand Jury, including Eric Kubo, Allison Madriaga, and Dinesh Ramde, then shared firsthand experiences and insights gained through service in this important civic role.
