One of the most powerful prompting strategies I shared with the SDSU AI Club is also the simplest. Add this to the end of every prompt while you're learning: "Before answering, ask clarifying questions to ensure your response adds value for me." Will it be annoying at first? Absolutely. The AI will hit you with 25 questions, and it will take 10 times longer. But here's the thing: if you're paying attention, those questions are teaching you exactly what context AI needs to deliver real value. After a couple of weeks, something shifts. The AI starts asking 20, then 10, then 5. Not because AI got smarter, but because you did. You're now naturally providing the right Context, a clear Task, and your desired Format before the AI ever has to ask. That's the CTF framework (Context, Task, Format) in practice, and you learned it just by paying attention to the AI's questions. When AI consistently asks you only 1-2 questions, update the statement to include "if needed". That's Applied AI skill development in action. No course, no certification. Just one sentence and the patience to learn from the process. If your school, district, or organization is looking for hands-on AI training that meets people where they are, I'd love to connect. hashtag#AppliedAI hashtag#PromptEngineering hashtag#CTF hashtag#AiEducation hashtag#AIWorkflows hashtag#LearnByDoing hashtag#AIPD hashtag#AiCapacity
