Titan Missile Silo

From 1963 to 1987 Arizona was home to 18 Titan II Nuclear Missiles that sat idled in the desert with a rotation crew of four crewman ready to launch these missiles. Just east of Tucson along state highway 83 lays the remains of a Titan II silo. The only other silo is in Green Valley area and its a museum. All other silo have been filled with concrete with a few that were purchased and turned into homes below the surface. My Father Inlaw was with the 390th Missile Command here in southern Arizona, Sadly he has passed away. I would had loved to picked his brain about this location.
