I have a short and sweet tutorial for you today that shows you two square knot variations. These are two quick and simple ways to create a a fun design within your work - either variation can be repeated along your work or incorporated into another design. As always, a quick like, comment and subscribe does go along way! I appreciate your support. Let’s get started. Variation 1 Cut 2 pieces of 4mm rope in the colour slate grey/blue and one piece in the colour vintage peach, each piece is 6 feet in length. Fold them in half and attach to your dowel as I’ve done here. Tie a half square knot with the four cords on the left. Grab the two vintage peach cords and thread them through the left side of the half square knot and then pull tight. Tie the last half of the SK and then thread the vintage peach cords through the right side of the half square knot making sure the cords are behind the slate grey/blue cord on the left. Repeat this process making sure that the vintage peach cords are always behind the slate grey/blue cord before threading it through. Create a design of your desired length. Variation 2 Cut 2 pieces of 4mm rope in the colour vintage green and one piece in the colour bisque, each piece is 6 feet in length. Fold them in half and attach to your dowel as I’ve done here. Tie a half square knot with the four cords on the left. Grab the two cords on the right and thread them through the left side of the half square knot and then pull tight. Tie another half SK and then thread the bisque cords through the right side of the half square knot making sure the cords are in front of the vintage green cord on the left. Repeat this process making sure that the bisque cords are always in front of the vintage green cord before threading it through. Create a design of your desired length. You can see a comparison of the two designs here. Thanks so much for watching!
