After landing, I stepped out into the arrival area, where taxis and cars were busy picking up passengers. But instead of taking a taxi, I walked out of the airport premises in search of the public bus to Colombo city. Once I reached Colombo, I hopped on a tuk-tuk and made my way to The Nosh Cafe at the World Trade Center, where I grabbed a quick breakfast just as they opened at 7AM. With a warm cup of coffee in hand and a light meal, I was ready for the final stretch. Another tuk-tuk ride brought me to the Colombo Fort Railway Station, where I soaked in the busy energy of trains arriving, platforms buzzing, and locals rushing through their day. Finally, I waited for my train to Kandy — set to depart at 8:30 AM — marking the start of a beautiful adventure into the Sri Lankan highlands.
