Iron Oxide & The Krusty Rusties - Just Call Us The Krusty Rusties (Take 2) 2025-04-26

On this night we were working with dual percussionists, one electric and one acoustic, to make the beat for Iron Oxide and The Krusty Rusties. This evening was to be Ronnie The Harpers last gig as a MA resident so we jammed hard later in the night. However, for warm up in this free form take 2 cut, Ronnie formulated something of a Krusty Rusties Anthem from our straying play and some ad hoc lyrics. This cut purposefully starts akin to an orchestra warm up and then winds up out of sync and key and time to the get the crust off the rust. It's like and underpowered spring driving an old music box, but with several instruments. Percussion was "herded' to sync via the handle castanets (obtained in Tijuana in the mid-1980s). Oh, and the Electronic drums were refurbished junk from Goodwill, like many of the instruments in the room. That effort is part of the satisfying fun. "The Blue Room" in Orange, MA has been referred to fondly as a poor man's "Daryl's House" and so it is. The five of us had much fun on this night... 2025-04-26. One surely can not say "it was so bad it was good", that's for sure, but... "it is what it is" or "was what it was", and that was just fun and done.
