In this video, I demonstrate how to build a Thunderbolt 4 eGPU dock using the EXP GDC TH3P4GAN GPU Dock and a 3D-printed case that is compatible with USB4 and supports 85W power delivery over Thunderbolt 3/4 for a laptop mini PC. 3D model files: https://www.printables.com/model/1230... Note: Please keep in mind that this eGPU setup is not budget-friendly and may not be worthwhile for everyone. I do not recommend buying every component solely for this build. However, if you already have most of the parts—like the GPU power supply—and you just need the Thunderbolt dock, then it's a great option to try. The laptop's CPU is a 10W Intel Core i7-10710U, and it is too slow to load games efficiently. The CPU creates a bottleneck during gaming. Since I currently don't have a PC compatible with a Thunderbolt port, I owe you a gameplay test on this GPU. I'll post another video showcasing the Thunderbolt eGPU setup's gaming performance, so stay tuned. 0:00 Introduction 0:29 Unboxing EXP GDC TH3P4GAN GPU Dock 3:25 Assembly 5:21 Finished project preview 6:19 Connection testing 7:17 eGPU stress test Description: Ever wondered how to upgrade your laptop's graphics performance without breaking the bank? In this video, I'll walk you through the step-by-step process of building your own Thunderbolt 4 eGPU. You'll learn how to assemble custom 3D-printed parts, secure the GPU using a tailored bracket, and connect the entire setup to your laptop for enhanced performance. What's Covered: Components Overview: A quick look at the essential parts— from the eGPU board to the Lenovo 300W AC adapter. Assembly Process: Detailed instructions on installing the GPU, mounting it with the custom bracket, and fitting everything into the sleek enclosure. Connectivity & Testing: Connecting your eGPU to your laptop via Thunderbolt 4 and running performance tests to see the upgrade in action. By the end, you'll have a clear idea of how to build your own eGPU and expand your laptop's capabilities. If you're into DIY tech projects, this video is for you!
