Giants RB Cam Skattebo Suffers Fractured Fibula, Ruptured Ligament in Addition to Dislocated Ankle

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo is facing a major recovery after dislocating his ankle during Sunday's loss to the Eagles. The injury was far more severe than a simple dislocation; NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports that Skattebo also sustained a fractured fibula and a ruptured deltoid ligament. Skattebo, a fourth-round pick, was immediately taken from Lincoln Financial Field to surgery. Despite the severity of the compound injury, the procedure was deemed successful, and Rapoport indicates that the young running back is expected to be ready for the team's offseason work ahead of the 2026 season. Skattebo finished his rookie season with 110 carries for 410 yards and five touchdowns.
