Ubud, Bali. Monday, 23 February 2026. The weather in Ubud, Bali has been pretty unpredictable lately. It can rain all day long, sometimes with strong gusts of wind thrown in. We started our walk along Monkey Forest Street, heading towards Ubud Town Square. From there, we crossed over and stepped into Ubud Palace — the historic residence of Ubud’s royal family. After exploring the palace grounds, we exited through the western gate onto Suweta Street, then turned left onto Ubud Main Street. We crossed the road again towards the Ubud Art Market Sidewalk. This pedestrian area has recently been widened and upgraded, making it much more comfortable to walk through. It’s also commonly used as a pick-up point for tourists. Next, we turned right into Karna Street — a small lane lined with local art stalls stretching along the entire street. From there, we turned left onto Dewisita Street, known for its aesthetic cafés and cosy restaurants. We then continued right onto Hanoman Street. This road tends to be quite busy with traffic, as Ubud operates a one-way loop system around the town centre. After that, we turned right again onto Goutama Selatan Street, the southern part of Goutama Street. This area is known for its romantic atmosphere, especially towards the early evening. We kept walking along to Goutama Street itself, where you’ll find plenty of coffee shops, cafés, restaurants, spas, homestays, and more. After 6pm, vehicles are usually not allowed into this area, making it much safer and more pleasant for pedestrians. We then turned left back onto Ubud Main Street — the main road in town, which is almost always buzzing with traffic. Our walk finished in front of Melanting Temple, a temple often used as a place of worship by local traders in Ubud. Thanks for walking with us!
