Professor Bruce Jentleson joined Kim Ghattas, Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, to discuss her book Black Wave: Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the Forty-Year Rivalry That Unraveled Culture, Religion, and Collective Memory in the Middle East. Kim Ghattas was born and raised in Beirut, on the front lines of the Lebanese Civil War. She spent 20 years as a journalist with the BBC and is currently a non-resident senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace which has her shuttling between Beirut and Washington, D.C. Her new book, Black Wave, analyzes the 40-year rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran and was recognized as one of the 100 Notable Books of 2020 by the New York Times.
