Another first for The Tuesday Night Music Club... welcoming a Grammy winner to our stage! But this was not about the Grammy, this was about the purest of blues from a master. This is what a couple of people who were there said: "If you closed your eyes you’d you could think you were sitting on the porch in a rocking chair in the Deep South listening to real raw blues….. Alvin mastery of blues guitar playing along with a deep husky blues vocals left no one in any doubt, the pedigree of his talent and love of what he plays." - Tony Cole "Having never seen Alvin before we weren't really sure how the evening was gonna go but as always we put our faith in Richard (Dunning) THE BOSS as he never fails to deliver an amazing night of musical excellence. From the moment Alvin sat in his chair the storytelling began each sentence or phrase was punctuated with a twang as he fine tuned his guitar strings, and as the evening unfolded we had a story attached to each track which I love to hear. He had stories about gigs and of people and the various films and documentries he had recorded tracks for. All too quickly side 1 was finished and after a short break Alvin launched into side 2, Alvin's DEEP DARK voice was perfect for all the tales and the traditional blues songs he plays. After he played his last song he stood and walked off the stage to clapping and cheering an calls for 1 more song and as he returned to his seat he told us a story about a Leadbelly Gig, Robert Plant and the track he finished his set here with......
