In this quick tip I show you how to use marble dust to get a realistic wet-sand effect using acrylic paint. I also explain some more economical options using limestone flour. I also show some of my work using very heavy impasto effects and a range of impasto and carvable mediums - I've listed below all the products that I mention, along with others you may find useful to achieve these or similar impasto effects. Products used [NOTE: I have not been paid or given free products in turn for reviews for anything used in this video - all views are entirely my own] Marble dusts: Daler & Rowney Texture Builder Set (Marble Dust in Fine and Course varieties, and a tube of Glaze Medium in Gloss finish) http://amzn.to/29wvOvr An equivalent artist-quality fine-grain marble dust from Cornelissen: http://amzn.to/29wng28 Or cheaper – limestone flour meant for equestrian use: http://amzn.to/29wwEs4 Acrylic mediums [it should be ‘media’ and it annoys me so much!]: Winsor & Newton Galleria line: Heavy carvable modelling paste (acrylic medium) http://amzn.to/29wnFBU [this is how I built up those rocks] Daler & Rowney acrylic mediums: Impasto Gel (Matte) http://amzn.to/29wnNkD Impasto Gel (Gloss) http://amzn.to/29wnRkn Acrylic Special Effects Set (75mL tubes of each Impasto Gel (Gloss), Impasto Gel (Matte), Glaze Medium (Gloss), Pearlescent Tinting Medium and Slow Drying Gel) http://amzn.to/29wnGFK [this is a REALLY good saving compared to buying them all on their own btw!] DISCLAIMER: Most of my video descriptions include links to Amazon UK and Amazon USA via their Affiliate Programmes. I use these to link the products I have used in my videos so that you can find out more about them and buy them if you want to. If you make a purchase through these links, Amazon UK or USA pay me a small fraction of the product cost - but you don't pay anything more than you would if you found the item yourself on Amazon.
