𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲! Inauguration ceremony of the expansion of 𝐏𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐓𝐈-𝐊𝐓𝐇 into two functional units was held at the department demo room today. Dean Khyber Medical College 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐮𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐳𝐞𝐛 graced the occasion as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the teams. He was also accompanied by Medical Director - 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐞𝐞𝐦, Associate Medical Director - 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐭. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. Sajjad Dawar, and former HOD Medicine 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐙𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐭. The event was also attended by chairpersons of the Paediatric and Anesthesia Departments with their teams. Faculty from Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, and General Surgery 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐪 𝐖𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐝 welcomed and thanked the guests. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐧 Chairman Surgical Specialities presented a brief overview of the evolution of paediatric surgery in KPK. He expressed his pride in the fact that Paediatric Surgery at KTH has become the largest unit in the province and has produced the maximum number of specialists in the field. Dean KMC 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐮𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐳𝐞𝐛 praised the services of Paediatric Surgery at KTH and ensured his full support. He appreciated the department for offering complex surgical procedures for congenital anomalies and minimal invasive surgery facilities. In his insightful address, he stressed the need for the development of subspecialties for better patient care. The formulation of teams was done with the main aim of dividing the workload, sharing responsibilities, and creating opportunities for young paediatric surgeons. Team “A” led by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐪 𝐖𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐝 and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐔𝐳𝐚𝐢𝐫, and Team ''B'' by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐧 and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐣𝐣𝐚𝐝 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐢. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐛 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐪 will be working as registrar with both teams until the new registrar arrives. Both teams have 11 residents each.
