Date: November 29th - 30th, 1950 Operation: Day Three As the battle enters its 3rd day, the situation on Fox Hill remains dire. Almost half the company and its attachments have become casualties, and everyone is feeling the effects of -20 to -30 weather. The Marines are being kept in supply by airdrops for now, with another coming in this afternoon. In Yudam-Ni, the bulk of the 1st Mar Div is preparing to break out down the MSR back to Hagaru-Ri, relieving Fox Hill along the way. This effort is only just beginning, and for now Fox Company is still on its own. With nothing else to do but wait, the Marines on the hill continue to prepare for another anticipated CCF attack during the night. By the third day of fighting, conditions on Fox Hill are increasingly grim. Nearly half of the company and its attached units are now casualties, and the brutal -20 to -30 degree cold is wearing down everyone who remains. For the moment, the Marines are surviving on airdropped supplies, with another resupply expected later in the afternoon. Back at Yudam-ni, the main body of the 1st Marine Division is organizing a breakout along the MSR toward Hagaru-ri, with the intention of reaching and relieving Fox Hill on the way. That operation is only just getting underway, however, leaving Fox Company effectively isolated for the time being.
