A birding expedition to Colonel Samuel Smith Park nets us a new bird: The Purple Sandpiper. A great bonus bird for our 300 Bird Challenge. You wait for a rare bird to show up, and then you get two. The following day, we go birding to McLaughlin Bay and another Purple Sandpiper crops up.
