I was so lucky to ride Willoughby on this day! We had a Lynx sighting, which is amazingly rare! This is one of those rides Ill never forget. The video picks up around Waterton where I get on dirt and head west on Spread Eagle road. Willoughby ridge if ridden from the south staging area, climbs a couple of kilometers up a rocky trail with some decent climbs and rock obstacles. Its not too offensive but you can see in the video I had trouble twice in the same rock garden. Once you scramble up to the ridge the views are endless. You have the continental divide to the west. I literally had trouble a few times keeping the bike up as I was slack jawed at the awesomeness in all directions. Heated grips on 100% in August for most of the day. I've included in the last 6 minutes of the video some footage from July when it was sunny and clear out. I hope this gives a bit more perspective on what you will see up there. There is about a minute and a half of decent wind noise, I apologize. I thought about dubbing some other audio over it but then I realized, that's exactly what it sounds like in your helmet when there is a 90kmh crosswind on a knife edge ridge! LOL. I genuinely encourage every one to ride, walk, pedal, anything you can do to see this trail with your own eyes. Not to be too dramatic, but I thought I heard angels singing in my helmet at times riding this magnificent trail!
