In this week's episode, we were joined by two key figures from Angus Dundee Distillers—the people behind Glencadam and Tomintoul Single Malt Whisky. 🥃 Iain Forteath, Master Blender for Angus Dundee Distillers, has one of the most fascinating journeys in the Scotch Whisky world. At one point, he was the youngest Master Blender in the Scotch Whisky industry. His career started in wine sales, before moving into whisky as a Brand Ambassador. But his sharp palate set him apart—after achieving the highest score in a company-wide sensory analysis test, he was fast-tracked to the blending room, where he now oversees some of Scotland’s finest Single Malt Whisky and blended Scotch. 🥃 Cameron McPherson, Brand Ambassador for Glencadam and Tomintoul, took a different but familiar route into Scotch Whisky. Like so many industry pros, he cut his teeth at the Scotch Whisky Experience, where he developed his deep knowledge and passion for whisky before stepping into his ambassador role, representing two historic Single Malt Whisky distilleries. These lads let us sample some fantastic drams from both Tomintoul and Glencadam Distilleries, walking us through the exciting Scotch Whisky ranges that Angus Dundee Distillers are working on. Iain also gave us a full breakdown of how to identify flavour, taste, and aroma when trying whisky, explaining the drilling down method he learned while mastering his craft as a Master Blender.
