In the lead up to the launch of The Florrie Archive we spoke to a number of our Old Boys & Girls to capture their memories of their time at The Florrie. Here we speak to Florrie Old Boy Joey Bower who attended The Florrie in the 1950’s. Joey talks about his experiences as goalkeeper for Florence Albion FC as well as how he learned guitar at The Florrie before forming his band The Fourmost with his friends Brian O’Hara & Billy Hatton. Joey also shares his memories of The Fiesta Club, a social night that launched at The Florrie in 1957. The nights were a landmark moment for the building as it was the first time girls were allowed to join.
