Experiencing Summit One Vanderbilt - New York City's Brand New Sky Scraper

In today's video we take you on a trip up New York City's newest skyscraper attraction Summit at One Venderbilt, Summit opened in October 2021 to much fanfare after an extended delay. Summit is located next to Grand Central Terminal and the Met Life building, offering direct subway access, it's so easy to get here! Summit is an immersive experience inside One Venderbilt, as you enter the experience you watch a video explaining the experience and are given glasses and shoes/floor protector socks before boarding your mirrored elevator to begin your experience. As you exit your elevator you enter your first experience, Air, this experience is a room that offers you panoramic views over New York City Downtown to World Trade Center with floor to ceiling windows, you also have the exceptionally cool mirrored floor and ceiling! Make sure you're dressed for the day! These mirrors really open the room up and give you some amazing photo opportunities. Your next experience is Reflect, this is an art installation designed by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, the exhibit features reflective clouds on the floor which offers some cool perspectives. You also have more panoramic views over the Hudson River. As you round the corner you also have a room filled with large mirror like balloons which you can interact with and bounce around the room, this offers you more cool photos if you can get the space. As you go up the escalator you have a second chance to see the first Air room but from above this time changing your perspective on the room and another chance to see Downtown Manhattan. Part 2 of your Summit experience is Levitation, here you have the opportunity to stand on a glass floor towering over the New York City street, you get to look down 370 metres to the midtown streets and have your pictures taken in the process. This is a cool experience but also so scary! Before you get to the final experience you pass Apres, this is a cafe located at the top of the skyscraper which some great views and relaxing vibes, it's a nice place to sit and unwind. You now get the opportunity to go outside and experience Summit, this allows you to walk around the peak of the building with unobstructed views of the whole of New York City, there's one final experience around here that you have the opportunity to so and that's a glass elevator taking you even higher, this is an additional cost so we didn't do this. As always, you exit through the gift shop where you can buy all kinds of merchandise and photos including green screen photos as if you're alone in the building which is quite cool! Overall, we think this is a fantastic experience and a great addition to New York City, this is the closest you'll get to unobstructed views and gives you a new perspective on the city, you now have a few attractions that are similar with the Empire State Building being the original and Top of the Rock offering you the glass walled views, Summit combines the 2 to be an all around immersive experience!
