The HPE DL120 Gen9 is an ideal entry-level 1U rackmount server handling low end applications. There are 2 CPU sockets (LGA2011-3) supporting Intel Xeon E5-2600 V3 or V4 series processors. We recommend Intel E5-2620v3 as a good baseline option for everyday needs. We recommend E5-2880v4 or E5-2690v4 for high end applications. Regarding the memory, the DL120 Gen9 runs on DDR4 and has 8 DIMM slots. Speeds accepted include 2133MT/s, 2400MT/s and 2666MT/s. Please note 2666MT/s will clock down to 2400MT/s, which is the true fastest speed. Sizes accepted include 4GB, 8GB, 16GB or 32GB. No unfortunately 64GBs are not supported. There are two types of memory compatible with the HPE DL120 Gen9 and that is ECC Registered, also know as a server RDIMM, and you can use Load Reduced Memory, also know as LRDIMM. The max configuration for the ProLiant DL120 G9 server is 256GB via 8 x 32GB 2400MT/s ECC Registered or Load Reduced Server Memory. Yes. Both types have the same max memory scalability.
