Living ESD: Places of transformation (1/3)

How does Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) contribute to making our society fit for the future? How, where and what do we learn in order to actively shape the sustainable transformation ourselves? In the first video of the series "Living ESD", we are hearing first-hand from people who are redesigning teaching and learning environments via the Whole Institution Approach and who promote competences that enable learners to advance the social transformation. Learn more about which competences are at the heart of ESD and how learners are empowered through ESD by watching three concrete examples from Germany. ** Video series "Living ESD" ** To launch UNESCO's new programme on Education for Sustainable Development "ESD for 2030", the video series "Living ESD" presents examples of successful ESD implementation in Germany. Based on the three focus areas of the new programme - transformative actions, structural changes and the technological future - ESD actors who have been recognised for their commitment by the German Commission for UNESCO and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research through the German ESD Awards and/or who are decisively shaping and contributing to the national ESD process are presented in each of the videos.
