It was released in The Orange Box on October 10, 2007 for Windows and Xbox 360 , and a month later, on November 22, for PlayStation 3 (the game is not cross-platform on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3). Since 2008, the boxed version has been available for purchase online on Steam , or in stores, and was published by Electronic Arts . On June 24, 2011, the game was made completely free to play, so it can still be downloaded on the Steam game purchase platform. Team Fortress 2 was developed by John Cook and Robin Walker, who had developed the original Team Fortress for Quake in 1996. The game was announced in 1998 , running on Valve's GoldSrc engine, but underwent many changes before its release. For example, in 1999 , the gameplay was changed to give it a more realistic, war-like look, but this was quickly replaced, so the final release had a comic book look, created by JC Leyendecker , Dean Cornwell , and Norman Rockwell . The game revolves around two teams, each with 9 playable characters, who fight in different game modes, on maps corresponding to the game modes. The lack of information, and the fact that practically nothing was known about the game during its 6-year development, led to it being labeled vaporware , and an article was written about it in Wired News, which also featured other games that were declared vaporware . Upon its release, the game received many critical acclaims and awards for its graphic style, balanced gameplay, and character personalities. VRChat is an online virtual world platform created by Graham Gaylor and Jesse Joudrey[2] and operated by VRChat, Inc. The platform allows users to interact with others with user-created 3D avatars and worlds. VRChat is designed primarily for use with virtual reality headsets, being available for Microsoft Windows PCs and as an app for Android-based headsets such as the Meta Quest, Pico 4, and HTC Vive XR Elite. VRChat is also playable without a virtual reality device in a "desktop"[3] mode designed for a mouse and keyboard, gamepad, or mobile app for touchscreen devices. VRChat was first released as a Windows application for the Oculus Rift DK1 prototype on January 16, 2014, and was later released to the Steam early access program on February 1, 2017.
