Demo of touching a "test implant" with Unipolar electrosurgery unit at high power. In this video we touch the implant a simple test you can conduct on your own. Soak your finger in mild saline solution to mimic and implant in vivo with blood around it. Turn on your ES at high and touch the implant in your own living tissue. You will be amazed when you experience no heat around your test implant. In the video I experienced absolutely no temperature change! There are some very poorly designed Studies which this video should debunk as pure nonsense. After doing this simple test, have a chuckle when someone tells you that using unipolar ES around implants is contra-indicated. In fact, one does not need the power I used on this video ever. We use power at settings at 4 or below and touch an implant for short times. Err on the side of caution but remember this simple experiment...
