Suspect is Facing his 8th Prison Sentence Date: 10/17/13, 10:09 AM LOCATION: C1 Bank, 110 Boulevard S. Tampa, FL SUSPECT: B/M Frederick D Williams, DOB 2-7-71, B/M, 3008 E. Cayuga Street, Tampa, FL CHARGES: 3 Counts of Armed Robbery, 1 Count Felon in Possession of a Firearm DETAILS: Tampa Police have arrested a suspect who robbed three Tampa banks in the last six weeks. Yesterday, 10/17/13 at 10:09 a.m., the suspect walked into the C1 Bank and presented a teller a note demanding money. Within minutes, officers determined that the suspect had just checked out of the University Inn directly behind the bank. The suspect then took a cab to the Brandon Mall. Officers responded to the Brandon Mall where they spotted the suspect exiting the mall with his purchases. The armed suspect was immediately taken into custody. Witnesses identified the suspect as the bank robber and he admitted to all three robberies. The first took place on 8/31/13 at Regions Bank on South Dale Mabry Highway. The second one was two weeks later at Chase Bank on North Dale Mabry Highway. The suspect was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail and charged with three counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Suspect was observed walking with a limp. ROBBERY 2: September 14, 2013 at 11:45 a.m. Chase Bank, 2001 North Dale Mabry Highway ROBBERY 1: August 31, 2013 at 10:59 a.m. Regions Bank, 5115 South Dale Mabry Highway DETAILS: Tampa Police detectives are working to identify and arrest a male suspect responsible for robbing two banks located along Dale Mabry Highway. The suspect committed his latest armed robbery at a Chase Bank shortly before noon on September 14th. Video surveillance from the bank shows the suspect filling out a slip in the lobby area and then taking a seat before walking up to the teller's window. He gave the teller a note that said he had a gun and was demanding money. The teller complied with the note and once she gave the suspect the money he fled the scene. Detectives believe that the same suspect committed a prior bank robbery on August 31st at a Regions Bank branch on South Dale Mabry Highway. In that incident, he again waited in line and then handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller gave him cash and he fled the scene. There were no injuries reported in either case.
