Evelyn, Remy, Maria, Roma and I are going to a very famous place in Candolim called Calamari. And today is not really about food. It’s more of a family outing to enjoy music played by our dear friends Agnel and Johnathon. But of course, we’ll have a bite, and we’ll share our experience with you We’re sitting outside today, near the beach. The outdoor seating in Calamari is really nice I will try the Jacket Potato with tuna and sweet corn topping (Rs 650). I’ll also have the Goan Beef Steak (Rs 920). Evelyn is having the Chinese Chilli Chicken (Rs 630), with a garlic naan (Rs 180). Roma is having Spaghetti alla Carbonara pasta (Rs 680). Remy is having Lamb Chops with Mint Sauce (Rs 990) and Maria is having the Grilled Beef Tenderloin Steak (Rs 920) Calamari’s owner, Verner, who is a true blue Goan gentleman, personally came to see what we would like to eat. His wife Leanne is equally charming. She is also Italian so the pizzas, pastas and gelatos at Calamari are superb We also tried Calamari’s famous gelatos - salty caramel and pistachio We 5 have been planning this day out to hear Agnel and Johnathan at Calamari for a while. So glad we finally made it. This seaside spot is so lovely Calamari is really generous with its portions. We really ate and ate that day and were completely stuffed. And still we had so much food left over to parcel. We had gone on a Saturday and the leftover was enough for Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch Agnel and Johnathon play at Calamari on Monday, Friday and Saturday afternoons, and on Wednesday evenings but there is always live music, afternoon and evening, at Calamari We really love the setting of this restaurant, on Candolim beach.
