Back in 2009, Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie warned us about the danger of a single story about another person or country. In her TED talk, she mentioned a 16th-century Englishman who called black #Africans "people without heads, having their mouth and eyes in their breasts". Later, another Englishman, Sacha Baron Cohen, would say that #Kazakh people had "teeth grow on outside of their mouths and they have more hair on their backs than on their heads". The fact that such racist defamation of #Kazakhstan is taking place out in the open in the 21st century is shocking and egregious. Adichie said that "the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete."
