It is the opposite of "silence". Ambience is similar to presence, but is distinguished by the existence of explicit background noise in ambience recordings, as opposed to the perceived "silence" of presence recordings. Every location has distinct and subtle sounds created by its environment. These sound sources can include wildlife, wind, music, rain, running water, thunder, rustling leaves, distant traffic, aircraft and machinery noise, the sound of distant human movement and speech, creaks from thermal contraction, air conditioning and plumbing noises, fan and motor noises, and harmonics of mains power. 💁‍♂️ Mel Coffee Roasters is located at about 10 minutes’ walk from Shinsaibashi station, one of the most vibrant areas in Osaka. With a simple but warming exterior, this very small coffee stand and roaster of only 8.58m2 is owned by Masahiko Fumimoto, who also is the roaster. 💁‍♂️Shinmachi (新町) was a yūkaku (遊廓、遊郭, pleasure quarter, courtesan's district) in Osaka, built between 1615 and 1623, and operating until its destruction in World War II. It was situated roughly two kilometers southwest of Nakanoshima. Today, it is mostly a tourist attraction and historical site. Throughout the Edo period (1603–1868), there was widespread male and female prostitution throughout the cities of Kyoto, Edo, and Osaka. The Tokugawa shogunate attempted to control this by restricting prostitution to designated city districts, known as yūkaku. These districts were Shimabara in Kyōto (est. 1640), Shinmachi in Osaka (est. 1624–1644) and Yoshiwara in Edo (est. 1617). These restrictions and controls did not derive from a moral opposition to prostitution, but out of a desire to compartmentalize certain types of activity within the cities. Kabuki and jōruri theatres, and other related entertainment establishments were similarly controlled. 💁 Nishi-ku is a trendy area known for cool fashion, furniture, and home goods boutiques around Horie Park, a charming city square. The Horie district is also filled with cafes, traditional Japanese eateries, and lively bistros serving a range of international cuisines. Peaceful Utsubo Park, a favorite spot for picnickers, contains a rose garden, and, across the Kizu River, the Kyocera Dome hosts pro baseball games. 💁‍♂️ Osaka is a large port city and commercial center on the Japanese island of Honshu.
