Discussions are likely to focus on counter-terrorism cooperation, maritime security in the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean, trade connectivity routes, and energy security. Israel views India as a key pillar in its broader regional alliance vision, while India sees Israel as a critical technology and security partner. Historically, India supported the Palestinian cause and maintained distance from Israel until full diplomatic relations were established in 1992. Since then, ties have expanded into agriculture, water technology, innovation, and strategic partnership — highlighted by Modi’s landmark 2017 visit. Domestically, Israel faces internal political divisions, and India is expected to maintain diplomatic neutrality, avoiding involvement in internal debates.
