The best way to germinate cannabis seeds? Here’s what works for me every time. Instead of the traditional paper towel, I use gauze pads because it’s easier to separate the seed once it has germinated, exposing the fragile taproot to less damage. I never let skin touch seed. Using clean metal tools, I just scoop up the seed and move it straight into the Germinator. 48 hours later it’s time for the next phase. I prep the germination cup with enough vegetative phase solution to show a saturation ring of about a quarter inch at the bottom of the cup. The light-colored kernels are mosquito bits pellets. At the time of this recording, we are finishing off a fungus gnat issue. Next, I dig a slender hole deep enough to allow about an eighth of an inch of dirt cover once the germinated seed is in place. With a small metal scoop, I gently place it taproot down. Three days later I can see the green cotyledons beginning to emerge so now I consider it a seedling.
