I get asked if I use my colors directly from the tubes all the time. This video demonstrates how I work with my gouache palette ( and I use acrylics and oil colors the same way). I never pick an approximate color, but mix the exact colors I want to see in my painting. You can't see here the water jar I was using to clean my brushes and the bowl with the paper towel peaces that served me as a sponge to dry my brush a bit after every washing (I don't want my paint to became soupy because of excess of the water on the mixing tray).
