Exmark Lazer Z fuel check valve. Exmark part #99-5000. I was trying to solve why this mower would run for a while and then die. After it sat it would start and run again. Then, die again. You get the idea. On this mower the tanks drain concurrently. There is not a fuel diverter valve that you turn. These mowers had fuel check valves that allowed the fuel tanks to drain evenly. One of the check valves on this mower had failed. One tank would run until empty or near empty. The other tank would not drain. This caused air to get into the fuel line. Exmark did not make these valves easy to find either. I should have, in hindsight, taken then time to remove the plate to show you exactly what I was referring to. The plate that I am referring to is the black plate that states "Exmark" just below the seat area. If you are having a difficult to identify fuel issue, I believe that you can use the information contained in order to identify the valves. Think along the visual lines of a fuel filter.
